Why is my AC System freezing over and has ice on it?
During the summer months this happens to be one of the many popular requests for service that we receive. There are a few reasons that this may happen. The system could be low on refrigerant (freon) or when the indoor blower motor stops running it will cause the system to freeze up just the same. Anything that stops the correct amount of airflow from moving across the indoor cooling coil can cause the same result. There are more reasons that could cause this but the above two are the most common. If you are experiencing this problem then the first thing you should do is turn the system off. When the system has an ice buildup it cannot be accurately diagnosed to determine the cause of failure until the system has defrosted.
Why is my Central AC System Leaking Water?
Most new central AC systems installed within the last 10 years will generally have a water sensor that stops the system in that event that the water is not draining properly. In fact this is a code requirement for new replacement installations. However, there are still times when you may see water pooling under the indoor Air Handler or underneath the Furnace and cooling coil. The water sensor may not pick up every instance of the AC leaking water which can leave you with a messy situation and even possibly property damage.
Why is my AC not cooling?
